Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
Duration: 3 Years (6 Semesters)
Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 in any stream with computer science and mathematics preferred. Candidates who have not taken computer science or mathematics will be required to take basic courses in these subjects in the first semester.
Computer science is one of the most rapidly growing areas of knowledge and applications today. Computer literacy has become essential for all aspects of work and study. This course will prepare students for challenging careers as professionals in the public and private sectors, working as software professionals or systems, network or database administrators. Graduates can go on to specialize in system programming, Network programming, graphics, bioinformatics and other applied areas.

This program is designed to provide students with the educational grounding required for a professional career in the computing industry and for further study at the postgraduate level. It will provide an understanding of and the ability to apply the core principles and practices of computer science; the professional skills to meet the immediate needs of regional and other employers, while being able to adapt to rapidly changing technology; a foundation in the related areas of communication, science, and mathematics; an understanding of ethical responsibilities in the profession and the motivation and preparation to engage in life-long learning, including entering advance degree programs in computer science.

Course of study:
The course includes classroom lectures, case discussions, project work, written assignments, oral presentations and other methods of learning. E-learning will be encouraged.
